Overscan settings Sony KDL-32U2000 & Mac Mini via HDMI
I recently updated my home theater solution from my Philipps DVD player to a Mac mini 1.8Ghz/2GB connected to my Sony KDL-32U2000 32 inch LCD TV with a HDMI to DVI adapter. Problem: The default resolutions either offered using the overscan option (which resulted in having the MacOS title bar and dock shown off the screen) or without using overscan and having black borders around the image. Neither of these were really satisfying.åç
Solution was using DisplayConfigX (http://www.3dexpress.de) and playing around with the settings until a suitable resolution filled out the whole screen.
Settings that worked for me:
Horizontal:
Active Pixel: 1232
Vorderer Rand / Front porch: 128
Sync 80
Hinterer Rand / Back porch: 208
Summe / Sum: 1648
Vertical:
Aktive Zeilen / Active Lines 704
Vorderer Rand / Front porch: 12
Sync: 5
Hinterer Rand / Back porch: 29
Hope this helps others having problems like me.
